Situated near the Mull of Galloway, Cockmalane is an immaculate
holiday cottage providing home from home comforts in an area
of spectacular scenic beauty. From the windows you look across
the sea to the Galloway Hills and south to the Isle of Man.
Having quiet paths, lovely beaches and rocky shores to explore,
the area is ideal for walking, fishing, cycling, and sailing.
Wildlife abounds and the lanes are filled with wild flowers,
which are especially beautiful in April and May. The RSPB
has an interesting reserve at the Mull of Galloway and a visitor
centre with lots of local information.
The Rhinns of Galloway are full of interest with many fascinating
historical features, the sub tropical Logan Gardens and pretty
villages such as Port Logan and Port Patrick where the TV
series 2,000 Acres of Sky was located. Drummore has a small
supermarket, the first and last Post Office in
Scotland, a hotel, a Pub and a Garage.
If you want to go further afield Stranraer has a good swimming
pool, shopping and supermarkets. Curling, golf and ferries
to Ireland can also be found near by.
